Overview

A stand-alone single drum filler is typically used whenever drums and pails are run in small batches. Containers must be loaded and unloaded manually, by fork truck, or other appropriate device. However, conveyors to and from the filler can be applied at almost any time. This is a standard model DF-5510, semi-automatic, top and sub-surface filling machine. When operated in the sub-surface filling mode, it will fill containers from 5 gallon pails up to 55 gallon drums.

Description of Operation

This model DF-5510 is both a sub-surface and a top-fill machine to fill 5 to 55 gallon containers

  • Containers must be manually loaded and unloaded from the scale
  • If conveyors are used, containers automatically convey to and from the fill station
  • If using tight-head containers, the operator aligns the bung opening under the lance
  • By pressing start, the lance automatically travels to the bottom of the container
  • The machine will automatically zero the tare weight before beginning the fill cycle
  • The machine will fill in three speed, slow/fast/slow, if needed
  • When filled to the predetermined weight, the lance automatically retracts
  • This machine will typically fill a 55 gallon drum with water in 45 seconds @ 80 gpm product flow
